BRiSON ON LOCATiON: FANTASiA THROWS HER GiRL LAUREN A B'DAY PARTY iN THE A!!!!

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 , under , , |

Fantasia is known for bringing the party to the A, and this weekend she really showed out for her best friend Lauren's (and her boy Cordell's) birthday. I'm learning that ain't no party like a 'Tasia party!!! They shut the M Bar down, and most folks didn't even know she was in the back partying it up; she did make her way to the front to request some songs...she lost it to "Ain't I" when a special somebody's verse came on (even though rumors are circulating of a recent break up). Shout out to celebrity photographer Romeo for holding it down!!!!

GORiLLA ZOE REGISTERS TO VOTE!!!!! ARE YOU REGISTERED???

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Thursday, September 25, 2008 , under , , |

I love getting stories like this one! We all know how historic this election year is, and to see the hip hop nation going above and beyond to spread the word is more than rewarding!!!
Gorilla Zoe of Block Ent./Bad Boy South/Atlantic took time during a hectic schedule this past weekend performing for 95.5 The Beat's Birthday Bash, autograph signings and photo opps to register to vote. As his mixtape "I Am Atlanta" hosted by DJ Scream sweeps through the streets and his single "Lost" featuring Lil Wayne climbs the charts, Gorilla Zoe is proving he is more than a recording artist but an influencer that understands the importance of voting and being a relatable example for his community. Gorilla Zoe wants to stress the importance of voting by leading by example. Voter Registration ends October 6th!!!
***REMEMBER - DO NOT WEAR YOUR OBAMA CLOTHiNG TO THE POLLS!!! iT'S BEEN GOiNG AROUND iN ViRAL EMAiLS & BRiSON WANTS TO DO OUR PART TO MAKE SURE YOUR VOTE iS COUNTED!!!!***
Log onto www.myspace.com/gorillazoe96 and www.block-ent.com for Gorilla Zoe News & Updates!!! Make sure you peep the 1st issue of BE Entertained Magazine when it hits the web on October 19th...Gorilla Zoe will definitely be in there!

DANiTY KANE PERFORMS LiVE AT SiX FLAGS & CELEBRATES D.WOODS' B'DAY

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Sunday, July 6, 2008 , under , , , , |

It's been a jumping 4th of July weekend in the A, but I have to give props to the event that set the weekend off. Danity Kane put it down at Six Flags over Georgia on Thursday (despite starting the concert extremely late). I was shocked to see them perform the majority of their hits from their latest CD "Welcome to the Dollhouse", but they honsetly put in work! I guess it was D.Wood's birthday that got them jumping, but either way props to the ladies for shutting it down! I have lots of footage from the show, but the audio sucks! Check out a lil D.Woods birthday tribute from an up and coming BET show contestant. I'll definitely keep you posted on the other footage (as soon as I work out some kinks) as well as from D.Woods' birthday after-party. As you can see from the pic above, Dawn was shining light the light that she is; signing autographs before the show. I even got a quick interview with her, so keep it locked to BRiSON for the entre month to hear our EXCLUSiVE with Dawn and everybody else!!!!

DAViD BANNER LiVE @ APPLE STORE iN ATLANTA (OVER THE WEEKEND)

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 , under , , , , |

David Banner may have instantly become on of my favorite artists! He showed out at the Apple Performance Series at Lennox Square Mall on Saturday. He touched on lots of important issues like the upcoming election, race, our youth (he showed my son Celly G so much LOVE!!!), and of course himself being labeled as an "angry black man". Check out how he put it down, and make sure you go out and cop his album on the 15th. Stay tuned to BRiSON for our EXCLUSiVE with Banner later in the month.

ATLANTANS REP HARD AT THE 2008 GRAMMY AWARDS

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Friday, February 8, 2008 , under , , , , , , , |

It's a shame that the number of Grammy nods doesn't dictate where the actual ceremony is held, if that was the case, Atlanta would definitely be the spot for the 50th annual Grammy Awards taking place this weekend in L.A. Check out the ATL artists (some native and others new) that will be repping hard on Sunday.

The list doesn't stop here, be looking for mega-producers DJ Toomp and C. "Sticky"Stewart to also be repping hard for the A in the Record of the Year and Album of the Year categories. Also shout outs to Gnarles Barkley and Outkast, they are definitely nominated as well. For a complete list of this year's nominations visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50th_Annual_Grammy_Awards

J.Write aka Mr. Jason's Elementary School Featured on the Atlanta News This Morning

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 , under , , |

Most of you know that I am much more than an entertainment journalist! Along with running the website, and writing for magazines, I am also an author, and 1st and foremost a 3rd grade teacher. Today, my school, MCAA (Marietta Center for Advanced Academics) was featured on the morning news show here in Atlanta. I can truly attest to MCAA being Georgia's premier elementary school, specializing in STEM (science, math, engineering and technology). The school not only has an amazing hands-on school store, we have 3 science labs, a news room, and wonderful students that take their elementary education as serious as they will college; not to mention every student works on their very own tablet-style laptop computer everyday. Oh yeah, and they have ME!!! Make sure to visit my myspace page to see some of the exciting things done in my class!

The Return of REDMAN: Red Gone Wild

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Friday, March 30, 2007 , under , , , |

It’s been nearly 6 years since the world last got dirty with Redman, and I hope everyone hasn’t cleaned up completely!

Redman is definitely back on the scene with the March 27th release of his sixth solo record: Red Gone Wild. I’m sure I don’t have to run down all of Red’s accolades…It’s enough said by just saying "Red and Meth." Anyway, you know Bri’Son was on deck for Redman’s listening party last night, thrown by Def Jam. The event was banging and had a little something for everybody: liquor, video games (including Def Jam: Icons), and music. Red hit the 1s and 2s and let everybody in on what makes not only his career, but also Red Gone Wild so off the chain. After taking a listen to most of the tracks, we had to go and drop the $12 for the CD! Red Gone Wild is officially slated as a Bri’Son Banger…let’s just hopes he gets the national recognition that he still deserves. Be on the look out for the 1st single, “Put it Down”; the joint is produced by Timbaland and features DJ Kool. I’m also sure you have heard the banger “Pimp Nutz”, which is already taking over the radio airways.

BIG UPS to Redman, Ricardo from Def Jam, and Isoul from Atlanta Peach…the event was off the chain; thanks for making sure Bri’Son represented! Oh yeah, shout out to Reggie Jr. (he was in the 2nd grade class last year, when I taught 1st & 3rd @ TCS…the best elementary school in the A!)

Rep Your City!

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Friday, March 23, 2007 , under , , |

Tomorrow should be a historical day for ATL. Alongside being the Crunk Capital, everybody knows ATL is what’s up right now…have you been listening to the radio at all for the past year or so? Ok, I may be biased, I live in the A, but the fact of the matter is somebody obviously agrees with your boy.

Tomorrow will be the 1st annual A-Town Day, being held at Morris Brown’s Herndon Stadium. The event will start at noon and will be all day…ok only until 8:00pm, but the event is primarily and truly for the kids. Just to prove it, kids 6 and under get in free; anybody over the age of 6 can pick up a $10 ticket before the 24th, or they can wait and grab one at the door for $15. Still don’t believe it’s for the kids? A portion of tomorrow’s proceeds will be going to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.

Lots of people are probably thinking to themselves, “Don’t they bring enough concerts to the A?” Well, A-Town Day is anticipated to be much more that a concert, the event will also be a festival and an overall day of awareness, touching on subjects like health and safety. V-103’s Greg Street will be the host, and for those of you who are interested in another ATL banging concert, here are a few of the artists signed on to perform: B.O.B, BHI & K-Rab, Big Kuntry (PSC), Blak Jak, Fabo, Mason Dixie, Shawty Lo, Heizman Bozy, Kujo Goodie, and the Shop Boyz. There will be many more artists on deck, but I guess you’ll either have to pull out the loot or log back on to http://www.brisonent.com/ for full details and exclusive footage on how the 1st annual A-Town Day went down.

GO GET IT: Chopper City Boyz release their debut CD, WE GOT THIS

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 , under , , , , , , |

Today is a GREAT day for New Orleans! Original Hot Boy B.G.'s crew The Chopper City Boyz, released their debut CD, We Got This, on Koch Records. It was almost a year ago that B.G. himself signed with Atlantic , but it’s obviously a good look since his group is on deck with Koch. DJ’s nationwide have been showing Chopper City love by keeping their single “Make ‘Em Mad”, but wait till you cop the entire CD, you’ll understand why heavy hitters like David Banner and even New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin had to jump on the joint! Make sure to go buy 2 copies of the CD and support B.G, Hakim, VL Mike, Sniper, and Gar – better known as the Chopper City Boyz.

  • If you want more information on the Chopper City Boyz hit them up at:
    www.myspace.com/ChopperCityBoyz

  • Or you can get at their publicist ChiQ Diva: profitproducer@gmail.com for booking
(I’m sure you can find them out in the streetz grinding too…they were all over N.O. yesterday signing CD’s and autographs & they are always doing shows here in ATL)

  • Check out Break Magazine’s next issue for full story and interview with the Chopper City Boyz!

STOP THE HATE - FREE DJ DRAMA & DJ CANNON!!!

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 , under , , , , , , , , , |

Last night (January 16) after a malicious raid by APD, DJ Don Cannon and DJ Drama of the well known, Atlanta-based, DJ's The Aphilliates found themselves behind bars. If you've been watching the news, I'm sure you see how they have plastered this everywhere; and for what crime...selling bootleg CD's? Come on! Now there's people out here killing, robbing, car jacking, and they arrest 2 of our "street elite" for hustling? Are they serious? Now this is a classic case of government greed. Just look at it: You've got 2 of the hottest DJ's in the game right now (it's no BIG secret Drama is DJ for TI/Grand Hustle, and that Drama has-or had a show-filmed in Atlanta- coming out soon), stacking bread, but just not officially clocking the dividends...sounds more like a come up than a crime!

According to reports, authorities seized at least 50,000 CD's from the downtown Atlanta location, which will first be put into evidence before being destroyed. Haters! Authorities also confiscated recording equipment, bank statements, cash and even vehicles. Vicious haters!! Apparently, Gangsta Grillz had been under surveilence for quite some time , but come on...how accessable are these guys? They only have one of the illest radio shows on Saturday nights, and do shows just about everywhere-from the concert to the after party. Why all the hate? FREE DRAMA & CANNON!
