Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 , under , , |

Sonia Murray is a world-class journalist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She is at the top of the media food chain here in the A. Anyone who is anyone who stops through or resides in Atlanta has sat down with Ms. Murray at some point. Today, BRiSON features her for her legacy and achievements in journalism and entertainment.

POSSiBLY THE BEST T.i. iNTERViEW EVER!

Check this interview of Atlantic Records/Grand Hustle recording artist Clifford "T.I." Harris, as he speaks to Sonia Murray, a noted Atlanta Journal-Constitution journalist and upcoming THUG Awards honoree. Every child who cares for or idolized T.I. should read this!

Here is an excerpt:

Q. What have you learned bout yourself, being on house arrest for months?

A. Patience. Just a lot of patience. If I can sit at home all day and wait on people to bring me what I need. Wait on getting permission to be able to do this and do that it's not as serious as I used to make it sometimes. Sometimes it was like, 'If I don't get this right now I'm just going to lose it'...When you're going 350 mph it tends to be that way. But when you are stopped — halted — not slowed down, but halted, you figure 'Well I could have just slowed down. I didn't have to be stopped.' I thought it was bad just to slow down. Now I see in me being stopped, I could have done this, been this, myself, instead of being forced to do it

One of the things J.Write and myself were discussing this weekend was the government authorities' treatment of T.I. compared to, say, Michael Vick. How do YOU feel? We will offer our thoughts this week. Check back later for more!

BOONDOCKS CENSORED? 2 "MISSING" EPISODES!

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Thursday, January 31, 2008 , under , , , , |

“The Boondocks” creator Aaron McGruder informedviewers of his edgy, irreverent Adult Swim series that Cartoon Network has unexpectedly shortened the 2nd season from a planned 15-episode run to 13.

Fifteen episodes were in fact produced but two, titled “The Huey Freeman Hunger Strike” and “The Ruckus Reality Show” aren’t currently scheduled to air, allegedly due to controversial material targeting Black Entertainment Television executives including Debra Lee and Reginald Hudlin.

On his Myspace page, McGruder has posted the following message to fans: “Okay, so … maybe it’s a 13-episode season." BRiSON has posted clips of the banned episodes.

Cartoon Network public relations senior vice president James Anderson confirmed to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Tuesday that the two episodes in question “will not be airing on Adult Swim.” No further comment was given.

Will the two episodes will be included in the show’s 2nd season DVD set, tentatively due out later this year?

CONGRATULATIONS: T.I. EXPECTIING 5TH CHILD!!

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Monday, January 7, 2008 , under , , , |

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Clifford "T.I." Harris' longtime girlfriend, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle (of '90s group Xscape) is 4 months preggers with a baby boy! This is T.I.'s 5th child and 2nd with Tiny (their son, King Harris is 3).

The elder Harris was arrested Oct. 13 for allegedly trying to buy machine guns and silencers in a Midtown Atlanta, Georgia parking lot. Late last week, a suppression hearing was postponed until mid-February. Late last year, Harris’ legal team filed motions in court defining the search of Harris’ vehicle on the afternoon of his arrest illegal because it was conducted without “a warrant, consent or probable cause.” Harris has pleaded not guilty, and was released pending trial on a $3 million bond, under strict conditions that include house arrest.

USHER TALKS ABOUT FAMILY, CHILDREN, MUSIC

Check out these notable quotes from new daddy and R&B Superstar Usher Raymond:

• On the funniest thing about fatherhood: "The funniest thing ever was Jermaine Dupri watching me change a diaper. He was like, 'You're officially a daddy, dog.' "
• On taking pics of the baby, Usher Raymond V: "I've become an instant photographer," he offers. "Developing them and everything." He shows AJC columnist Sonia Murray a picture of the baby — who may have more hair than daddy — during his first bath in the sink. "It looks like he's posing doesn't it?" the admiring father says. "I wonder where he gets that from? He's going to be a lady-killer!"
• On marriage: "Just to be a little more patient. Marriage is not a sprint, it's a marathon. You have to take your time and be very patient. Sometimes you've got to breathe. Step away. Walk away from each other. You'll drive each other crazy if you're not considerate of that."
• On becoming a new dog owner: "That's my buddy right there! I went and got a dog a week before I had my child. Crazy, huh? But his name is Mr. Scottie Benson...He almost got me thrown out of the house last night though, because he peed on the carpet."
• On getting a Grammy nomination earlier this month, and he doesn't even have a new CD out: "Shoot, I'm winning even in my sleep ... even in hibernation. That's a heck of a compliment."
• On when he'll finally have a new CD out: "I've been diligently working on creating a masterpiece. It's going to be out first or maybe the second quarter. I see the second quarter of next year. And there will be a video and single out at the top of the year."

(Sonia Murray also reports that Usher added that a collaboration with Michael Jackson and Atlanta rapper-singer T-Pain is in early stages. "It's been created, but it's not recorded. And as long as Michael is open to it, hey, anything goes.")
