Blige jumps on a track with Musiq Soulchild, Kanye re-releases "Love Lockdown," and vocal powerhouses and American Idol alums Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia are on the SAME TRACK! Alicia Keys gearing up to portray the Legendary Ms. Lena Horne

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 , under , , , |

I’m sure the world will go crazy for Oprah Winfrey’s big screen production showcasing the life of singer Lena Horne. The movie has been a long time coming and has transitioned from a tv movie to a big screen production. Janet Jackson was initially cast for the role, but Horne personally asked her to remove herself from the project after the Super Bowl wardrobe mishap. Well according to pagesix.com, the big O has nabbed a new leading lady…Alicia Keys! This is definitely a good look for Alicia as she has had a couple small acting roles, and to be hand selected by Oprah can never be a bad thing for your pockets; and peep the resemblance. Do it BIG Alicia!!!

End the week with a little more Alicia Keys

Check out a new song from Alicia's upcoming album "As I Am", which hits stores next week Tuesday.

We also wanted to shout out Alicia's opening act Jermaine Paul...you may not recognize him when he's not singing behind Alicia, but you all know him from almost any A.Keys track, especially "Diary". He will be up next to bat for J.Records; be on the look out, the boys got skills.

Last night at the Tabernacle, Frank Ski and Wanda Smith (V-103 Morning show Hosts) celebrated their 9th year on the air, and who better to bless the place than the beautiful, the talented...ok, the SUPER FINE Alicia Keys. We will be running a full story later in the week, as well as for one of our print affiliates, but we wanted to get you a few exclusive pics right away. The event was definitely packed and star-studded...even Janet Jackson walked though the crowd. BIG ups to Nicole and Viola from J.Records & to Aisha from V-103; as always, you are extra appreciated!!!

If you are anything like me, you are loving Ms. Keys right now!!! "No One" has grown on me immensely, enough that I recently crowned it as my official song...that is until today when I heard a new song from Alicia. I'm not sure of the title yet, but the song is BANGING in a Prince/Beyonce way. Do it BIG Alicia...I am a FAN!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully you can jump on the radio and win some of these tickets, it's sure to be a show that's unforgettable. Stay tuned to BRiSON for a sneak peak of the new Alicia Keys joint.
