Check this interview of Atlantic Records/Grand Hustle recording artist Clifford "T.I." Harris, as he speaks to Sonia Murray, a noted Atlanta Journal-Constitution journalist and upcoming THUG Awards honoree. Every child who cares for or idolized T.I. should read this!
Here is an excerpt:
Q. What have you learned bout yourself, being on house arrest for months?
A. Patience. Just a lot of patience. If I can sit at home all day and wait on people to bring me what I need. Wait on getting permission to be able to do this and do that it's not as serious as I used to make it sometimes. Sometimes it was like, 'If I don't get this right now I'm just going to lose it'...When you're going 350 mph it tends to be that way. But when you are stopped — halted — not slowed down, but halted, you figure 'Well I could have just slowed down. I didn't have to be stopped.' I thought it was bad just to slow down. Now I see in me being stopped, I could have done this, been this, myself, instead of being forced to do it.

J.Write and myself were discussing this weekend was the government authorities' treatment of T.I. compared to, say,
Michael Vick. How do YOU feel? We will offer our thoughts this week. Check back later for more!

This "game" and "Christmas eCard" featured on PETA's (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) website features Michael Vick complete with afro (though Michael has never publicly worn his hair in such a style, I guess PETA figured it would help us figure out that this was a Black guy, eh?) and jail garb running around in a prison yard hitting himself in the head with a football.
Let me just be clear that this REPULSES me! When news broke of Vick's dogfigting scandal, PETA was one of the first groups to pressure businesses to end Vick's endorsement deals. They then worked hard to push Vick's media image to ruins. Now I am not saying that Vick's own lies and actions (which to some justify a man losing everything that he has worked hard for) which were in need of correcting. However, after all of the humiliation and loss Vick suffered, he was willing to WORK with PETA and create several vignettes speaking out against the mistreatment of animals. This was NOT REQUIRED of him as this was not a punishment handed out by a judge. This was done because I believe Vick is sincerely sorry for his bad choices.
PETA's choice seems to be to CELEBRATE Vick's popular demise. It is as if these people get off on seeing someone suffer the consequences for their actions. I for one find nothing funny in what Vick did and find even less funny with PETA's hypocrisy. Since when was it "cool" to enjoy seeing a person make a choice that destroy's their whole life???
PETA is right. Animals do deserve respect. But it is your lack of respect for PEOPLE that makes your actions and attititudes just as reprehensible as Vick's.
What is your excuse, PETA?

In Richmond, Virginia today Michael Vick received a 23-month prison sentence and three years probation for his role in a dogfighting operation. The punishment for federal felony charges means Vick, suspended indefinitely by the NFL, won't play again until at least the 2010 season. He still faces more NFL sanctions. Vick has also been indicted in Virginia on state dogfighting charges and faces lawsuits from several banks. The Atlanta Falcons are awaiting an arbitration ruling in an attempt to recoup $20 million in bonus money paid to him as well. Michael reported to prison in November.

Falcon's QB, Mike Vick has been no stranger to anybody's television and radios lately, but he has kept it pretty low key with the media...until today. Vick took an excusive call from Atlanta radio host Porsche Foxx to chop it up with Vick and to exhibit the love and support that lots of ATLiens are giving him. Check out the interview below...

Who Went too Far???
88% feel as though the prosecutors are taking things too far
12% feel as though Michael Vick went too far with the dog fighting
Thank you for taking the time to vote on our poll. Polls are a good way for you to be involved in what's up on our site; so continue to vote once, twice, a million times...and tell some friends!!!!
With BRiSON being based out of Atlanta, it's obvious that this would be a story that we would jump on, but we purposefully stayed away as the story unfolded because we knew that there'd be information oozing from left and right within the following days and weeks of the Vick scandal. As of now, Vick is still on the Falcon's roster, but major ads such as Nike have decided to pretty much suspend his contract and push back the release of his upcoming shoe; even PETA is jumping on board to exhibit their anger towards Vick. We want to know WHO WENT TO FAR??? Is it Mike Vick and the "alleged" dogfighting, or is it all of the prosecutors including Nike and PETA who are saying "guilty until proven otherwise"? The poll will remain open until Friday, July 27, 2007 11:59p.m. so make sure you get your voice heard on BRiSON!!!
