SHAME ON PETA: WHY IS THIS NECESSARY?

This "game" and "Christmas eCard" featured on PETA's (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) website features Michael Vick complete with afro (though Michael has never publicly worn his hair in such a style, I guess PETA figured it would help us figure out that this was a Black guy, eh?) and jail garb running around in a prison yard hitting himself in the head with a football.
Let me just be clear that this REPULSES me! When news broke of Vick's dogfigting scandal, PETA was one of the first groups to pressure businesses to end Vick's endorsement deals. They then worked hard to push Vick's media image to ruins. Now I am not saying that Vick's own lies and actions (which to some justify a man losing everything that he has worked hard for) which were in need of correcting. However, after all of the humiliation and loss Vick suffered, he was willing to WORK with PETA and create several vignettes speaking out against the mistreatment of animals. This was NOT REQUIRED of him as this was not a punishment handed out by a judge. This was done because I believe Vick is sincerely sorry for his bad choices.
PETA's choice seems to be to CELEBRATE Vick's popular demise. It is as if these people get off on seeing someone suffer the consequences for their actions. I for one find nothing funny in what Vick did and find even less funny with PETA's hypocrisy. Since when was it "cool" to enjoy seeing a person make a choice that destroy's their whole life???
PETA is right. Animals do deserve respect. But it is your lack of respect for PEOPLE that makes your actions and attititudes just as reprehensible as Vick's.
What is your excuse, PETA?
