Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Monday, April 28, 2008 , under , , |

I had to post this pic of one of the flyest new chicks in the game. Her name is Teyana Taylor, and she was a part of the BMI Unsigned Artist Showcase in Atlanta last week. I had to post this pic from Concrete Loop of her kicking it around the town with the CL crew. That alone speaks for itself; this girl is legit!!! You would best remember her from an episode of MTV's Sweet Sixteen...her party was BANGING and so is she!

Diddy & Kim Porter host huge Stunna 16 Party for their son Quincy

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Monday, December 17, 2007 , under , , , , , |

It went down real BIG on Saturday here in Atlanta as Kim Porter and Diddy threw one of the best parties of the year, and it wasn’t even for them. It was for their son Quincy (Diddy’s stepson and R&B artist Al B. Sure's son), and with a party of this caliber, you know it will be featured on MTV’s Sweet 16, but don’t let Quincy hear you call it “sweet”; he wants this one to go down as the Stunner 16 party. And stunt he did with a guest list that extended for miles, including Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, Lauren London, Hurricane Chris, Rev. Run & son “Diggy”, Big Boi’s kids, and a host of other celebs. Congratulations Quincy, way to do it BIG!!!!

KANYE comments on VMAs and MTV

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 , under , , |

KANYE WEST had this to say about his time with MTV during the VMAs:

"I wasn’t mad that I just didn’t win any awards,” West says. “For me, [MTV] made it seem like performing on the main stage was a bad thing, and the suites were just so great. It was my dream when I made ‘Stronger’ to open up the VMAs with a real power performance.

He’s already deaded plans to promote Graduation on MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL).

He also was heated at the comments made by Pamela Anderson Lee, who said that she and Kanye made out when he did that Evil Knievel video. Pamela said "One of the best times I've ever had was making out with the next performer in the middle of the desert. I think I had my tongue so far down his throat I could taste his fiancée – and I might need a repeat performance later tonight."

According to people.com, Ye said:

"I'm engaged, and I feel like it's disrespectful to my relationship," West says of Anderson's remarks, which he claims the network assured him would not happen.

Kanye also commented on MTV's treatment of Britney Spears:

“They exploited Britney in helping to end her career...When Britney was opening, near the end, I felt so bad for her. I said, ‘Man, it’s a dirty game. This game will chew you up and spit you out.’"

MTV VMAs: Beyonce and Justin top the NOMS!

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 , under , , , |

Justin Timberlake and Beyonce lead the nominees for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards with seven apiece, it was announced yesterday. Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" was nominated for video of the year, as was Timberlake's "What Goes Around ... Comes Around," which co-starred Scarlett Johansson.

Also competing for video of the year are Amy Winehouse's "Rehab," Kanye West's "Stronger," Rihanna's "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z) and Justice's "D.A.N.C.E."

Timberlake was also nominated for male artist of the year and "most earth shattering collaboration" for pairing with Timbaland for "Sexy Back." Beyonce was nominated for female artist of the year and for her collaboration with Shakira on "Beautiful Liar."

West landed five nominations, including male artist of the year. He has often appeared prickly about losing awards, and on Tuesday he was still sore over being snubbed last year for his Evel Knievel spoof video "Touch the Sky." (In 2005, he did win best male video for "Jesus Walks.")
"I come to win. I don't come to lose," West told MTV Tuesday on "TRL," where the awards were announced. "I think there's some really strong competition this year."

Rihanna also received five nominations, propelled by her hit single, "Umbrella," which is up for "monster single of the year."

Also nominated for male artist of the year was Akon, T.I. and Robin Thicke. Rounding out the nominees for female artist of the year were Fergie and Nelly Furtado.

Amy Winehouse, whose album "Back to Black" was her second disc but her first released in the U.S., was nominated for best new artist. She received three nods, including female artist of the year.

The 24th annual VMAs will be handed out during a live two-hour show on Sept. 9 in Las Vegas at the Palms Hotel and Casino. Only eight categories will be awarded on the broadcast. Performers will include Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Amy Winehouse, Chris Brown, the Foo Fighters and Rihanna.

Timbaland will serve as "maestro" for the night, booking the show's acts. "By me being maestro," said Timbaland, "I am the show."

BREAKING NEWS: MTV Jams will broadcast the OZONE AWARDS!

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 , under , , , , |

According to SOHH.com, MTV Jams has signed on to broadcast the event. An all-star line up of performers is set to take the stage at this year's Ozone Awards, which will take place on August 13 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, FL.

The recently announced line up of performers and presenters includes Rick Ross, T-Pain, Young Jeezy, Plies, Lil' Wayne, Yung Joc, Lloyd, UGK, Shop Boyz, Trey Songz, Lil' Scrappy and Trick Daddy.

Those not able to attend the festivities in person will now have the opportunity to witness the evening's events, as the awards show will also air over the Labor Day weekend (September 1-3) on the MTV Jams network.

"The authenticity of the Ozone Awards is what constantly draws MTV Jams to the event," stated Tuma Basa, manager of music programming for MTV Jams. "The performers, nominees, and audience bring a completely unmatched level of realness and raw energy to the Ozone Awards and totally captures what the MTV Jams audience is looking for from the channel."

"Ozone's past collaborations with MTV Jams have helped us grow from a small underground publication to a nationally recognized brand," remarked Ozone Magazine CEO Julia Beverly. "The first annual Ozone Awards airing on Jams last year was a great look for everyone involved, so we're excited to be working with them again this year. Expect it to be bigger and better!"

May 19 - VH1's "Rock Docs" presents "The Last Days of Left Eye"

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Saturday, May 19, 2007 , under , , , , , , |

"The last day in the life of TLC's Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes began with an outdoor bath and her praising the sun, moments captured in filming she did in Honduras in April 2002 as she explored meaning in her existence," remarks BOB LONGINO of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

And, in the provocative documentary "The Last Days of Left Eye," moviegoers also witness her life's penultimate moment, riding along as passengers when Lisa struggles with the steering wheel of the Mitsubishi SUV. "It is shocking video, captured seconds before the crash that killed her one month before her 31st birthday."

The movie is directed by Oscar nominee Lauren Lazin ("Tupac: Resurrection"), focuses mostly on the month the TLC member spent in Honduras before her death. "On her retreat, Lopes and friends took along a camera and began documenting her mental explorations. She talks about many things — the 1994 fire she admitted setting at the mansion of former boyfriend and football star Andre Rison, and the inspirations in Atlanta that led to the lyrics for TLC's Grammy-nominated 'Waterfalls.'"

***"The Last Days of Left Eye," will air on VH1's "Rock Docs" TONIGHT!

RUN'S HOUSE - The best MTV programming ever!

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 , under , , |

If you have ANY OPPORTUNITY to do so, go to MTV's website by clicking on the link below and watch the SEASON PREMIERE OF RUN'S HOUSE! I had the pleasure of watching last night and I must say that Run's family accomplishes something that is rarely seen on network television: demonstrates the strength of his Faith to overcome tragedy/loss (of newborn daughter Victoria, who perishes at birth) and takes the time to help each and every member of his family through the process.

I would like to personally thank Reverend Run and MTV for the single most compelling piece of television on MTV, ever.

HERE IS THE LINK TO THE SHOW YOU CAN WATCH IT ONLINE:

Let's Adopt!

Posted by Im_A.King on Thursday, March 29, 2007 , under , , |

With the third season of “Run’s House” fast approaching, don’t expect to see the little bundle of joy that was baking in Justine’s oven on the show. At the end of season 2, Justine, wife of former RUN D.M.C rapper Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons, was pregnant with the couple’s sixth child. Tragically, they lost their newborn baby girl, Victoria Anne, just an hour after her birth in the latter part of 2006.

Now, the couple is leaning strongly towards adoption. Justine told America’s Essence magazine that, “I always wanted to adopt, but every time I mentioned it my husband would say, 'Why not have your own baby?' We take for granted that we can just have a baby. But I couldn't. Maybe part of the reason God let this happen is because He wanted us to adopt."

Season 3 should reveal the additions or lack thereof to the Simmons’ family.
