We recently got the chance for a quick chop it up session with one of the ladies of Danity Kane. Some call her the voice behind the group, others still call her Q's girl, but when it comes to us, we simply know her best as Dawn. Dawn won all of our hearts coming into her season of MTB after undergoing Hurricane Katrina, and now she's sure to keep it. Peep our EXCLUSiVE below!!! Shout outs to D.Woods!!! Thanks for all of the feedback & always checking in with your favorite BRiSON Boyz (as you can see, you were on the mind the day of the interview as well...oops! LOL)

DANiTY KANE PERFORMS LiVE AT SiX FLAGS & CELEBRATES D.WOODS' B'DAY

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Sunday, July 6, 2008 , under , , , , |

It's been a jumping 4th of July weekend in the A, but I have to give props to the event that set the weekend off. Danity Kane put it down at Six Flags over Georgia on Thursday (despite starting the concert extremely late). I was shocked to see them perform the majority of their hits from their latest CD "Welcome to the Dollhouse", but they honsetly put in work! I guess it was D.Wood's birthday that got them jumping, but either way props to the ladies for shutting it down! I have lots of footage from the show, but the audio sucks! Check out a lil D.Woods birthday tribute from an up and coming BET show contestant. I'll definitely keep you posted on the other footage (as soon as I work out some kinks) as well as from D.Woods' birthday after-party. As you can see from the pic above, Dawn was shining light the light that she is; signing autographs before the show. I even got a quick interview with her, so keep it locked to BRiSON for the entre month to hear our EXCLUSiVE with Dawn and everybody else!!!!

DAY 26 BEATS DANiTY KANE TO THE PUNCH!!!

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Friday, June 27, 2008 , under , , , |

At a time when Bad Boy could be killing the boy AND girl group scene, why is it that both Day 26 & Danity Kane went so long without 2nd singles? Danity Kane was rumored to be releasing their 2nd track "Bad girl" featuring Missy as a 2nd single, but I have yet to hear any spins on Atlanta radio stations (and you know we have about 50 of them). I was thinking Day 26 was headed down the same road until I turned on the radio last week to hear Brian smashing his part on "Since You Been Gone". I was getting a little worried though, especially since Diddy recently put the groups' tour on the chopping block (unless you're talking about the Six Flags tour circuit), but at least he is still trying to get Day 26 a lil coverage (they were just here in Atlanta for V103's Car & Bike Show, and they also did the BET Awards After-Party Celebration). I wish he was repping DK like that! Their CD is sick, and with the right promotion could definitely be on top of the charts right now. Can we get some "Sucka for Love", or even "Poetry"; I'll even settle for the rumored single, even though I'm a little over it since the rumor may have expired already. But I will be fair...DJ Plan.B played "Bad Girl" at a party like 2 weeks ago, and we left and hit the club and that was the 1st night we actually got the song in the club, so it may be coming, but I won't hold my breath...we all know the Cheri Dennis story!!!!!

You know your BRiSON Boyz are always on top of the NEW MUSIC, so check out our post from last March, where we had "Since You Been Gone" as a BRiSON BANGER...we ain't sleeping on Day 26; their album is legit too!

BRiSON PiCKS OF THE WEEK: USHER, DANiTY KANE, and DAY 26

Posted by DJ Plan.B on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 , under , , , , |

Shouts out to new Def Jam recording artist Rocko cause I gotta steal his line! My BRiSON motto for the day is "Umma Do Me!" lol It's so important to let your OWN spirit shine through in everything you do cause that's how you leave your mark.

Okay, let me stop with the philosophical here is the music that WILL NOT LEAVE OUR iPODS, laptops, or car CD players this week:

DAY 26 "SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE" - Go get these boys' new CD in stores TODAY! Day 26 honestly has made compelling music that certainly displays their artistry. Vocally, these boys make great songs for this to be their first album. With Danity Kane's SMASH album last week and now this, is this the return of the Bad Boy Empire?

USHER "MOVIN MOUNTAINS" - from his upcoming CD titled "Here I Stand" in June 2008 Usher has, in my opinion, a Grammy nominated track in this song. Certainly produced by C. Tricky Stewart and The-Dream (though many report Timbaland as the producer, which is certainly possible, though I am certain the Dream has vocals on the bridge) all involved have created a masterpiece!

DANITY KANE "PRETTY BOY" - Produced by , Danity Kane has created an amazing album! Most of the songs are excellent singles and sure to be hits in nightclubs and parties across the country. They may have created the best Dance/Pop Album of 2008.

J.WRiTE'S ALBUM REPORT CARD: WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Monday, March 17, 2008 , under , , , |

I'm extra excited about this week's album report card! The gorgeous and talented ladies of Danity Kane are back with their sophomore project Welcome to the Dollhouse, which will drop in stores nationally tomorrow. I must admit that I wasn't the hugest of DK fan on their 1st project. I did like their first single "Showstopper", but I wasn'tt ever really convinced that the group would have longevity...maybe it was all of the circulating rumors that D.Woods had left the group. Either way, I am a signed, sealed, and delivered fan this time around! The ladies are prorying a level of growth that takes most artists years and numbers of projects to achieve. "Damaged" is the ladies' breakout single and is so catchy that it'll definitley be making it's mark all over the charts. Their blazing harmonies and futuristic sound has not only been heavily apparent on their MTV reality show Making the Band 4, but we have gotten an opportunity to see these girls grow together and capture our ears and our hearts. Peep a sneak peak from welcome to the Dollhouse.
Album Grade - A+

J.WRITE INTERVIEWS D.WOODS FROM DANITY KANE

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Monday, January 28, 2008 , under , , , , , |

Since tonight is the premier of Season 2 of Making the Band 4, Battle of the Sexes, with The Band vs. Danity Kane vs. Donnie, we wanted to hit you up with a recent interview that I did with D.Woods of Danity Kane at an Atlanta fashion earlier this month. We get a chance to chop it up briefly about the new season, a recently released DK track, as well as what else in D.Woods' world in the near future. Turn your volumes up...it's a little difficult to hear, but you definitely want to peep what D.Woods has going on...sounds like the show is going to get a lil hot!

Here is the MTB4 trailer for tonight's premier and the new season; definitely check it out! Stay tuned to BRiSON for more MTB4 news, as well as for more exclusives with Tyrice, one of the boys that didn't quite make the cut, but that's creating a huge buzz from the Mid-west to the A! Still Around!

Danity Kane is planning to drop their sophomore project this upcoming fall. In addition to working with super-producers Bran Michael Cox, Scott Storch, Timbaland, Diddy, and others, they are looking to collaborate with new not-so established producers. The band wants to shed light on underground producers that have the skill but lack the exposure.

Dawn says about the new project, “To me, this is the turning point. This determines whether or not you’re legit. The first album was fantastic and has had such success, but I think the biggest thing is your staying power. It’s one thing to have one hit album, but it’s quite another to have longevity, so it’s very important that we make decisions that keep us in the game for a long time.”

There’s also talk about another season for the band on MTV. This series would document the aftermath of the first album’s release, the group’s concert tour opening for Christina Aguilera and the making of the next album. Hey, at least they have aftermath to follow-up on…whatever happened to Da Band????? I’ma find them.
