BRiSON ON LOCATiON: FOR SiSTERS ONLY (FSO) iN ATLANTA

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Monday, September 15, 2008 , under , , , , , , , , , |

The Georgia World Congress Center has of fire this weekend for V103's 17th annual For Sisters Only Conference. This was my 1st year attending FSO, but the overall experience, while quite "swap meet-esc", was an overall awesome experience which showcased a bunch of business networking, family togetherness, and all out entertainment. Check out a few pics from the event; you know Atlanta "pappo" Freddyo was on deck with camera in hand to catch all of the artists doing their thing. BRiSON ON LOCATiON: V103 SOUL SESSiON/R&B SPOTLiGHT

Last night reminded me of exactly why I LOVE living in the A! V103 teamed up with Remy, Lincoln, Devyne Stephens, and a few other sponsors to bring one of the most exclusive events to hit Atlanta, the R&B Spotlight at Club Opera. This musical event brought out the right amount of new school R&B infused with just enough old school to make you feel good in your soul. Last night's performers included Ray Lavender, Lil Ronnie, Noel, Rozelle, Keri Hilson, Monica (who showed that she and special guest Luda are "Still Standing"), Keith Sweat (who brought out Lil' G of Silk), and a killer closing performance by "Mr. White Chocolate" himself, Robin Thicke. As if the performer list wasn't tight enough, the VIP section was extra star studded with spectators such as Akon, Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe, Polow Da Don's label Zone 4, Jazze Pha, Bryan Michael Cox, Dirty Rose, and so many more. Check out our pics and make sure you get out and support this new wave of R&B stars; they ALL showed out last night!!!! Shout outs to Randy from Club Opera and to the V103 staff; thanks for always looking out!!!

BRiSON ON LOCATiON: JENNiFER HUDSON SOUL SESSiON & SO SO DEF CELEB GAME

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Monday, August 4, 2008 , under , , , , , , , , , , |

It was a busy weekend for for all of Atlanta, including your favorite BRiSON Boyz! We know you've been waiting, so thanks for your patience and here goes the anticipated events. Friday jumped us off with V103's first Soul Session of the season with Konvict's Ray Lavender, and J.Records' Jennifer Hudson. Both artists gave exceptional performances, even with Lavender having to win over a packed crowd who obviously were all awaiting Oscar winner J.Hud. Oh, but when she took that stage... It's no secret that Hudson is a power house, but when you hear this sensation live; she is no joke! Singing familiar songs and mixing in a little of the new, Hudson gave an invigorating show that will surely raise her already growing fan base, that and the fact that she got the audience very involved! We definitely want to gove our fans more footage, but due to restrictions from the radio station and label, we can only give but so much; we really weren't even supposed to be taking pics of J.Hud (yup, concert staff alerted all media-besides Freddyo-that if anyone was caught taking pictures, they'd be escorted out, so we kept it low profile, but visit http://www.freddyo.com/ for more). Either way, make sure you cop her new album next month when it drops. BIG ups to Nicole from J.Records & Aisha of V103...thanks for always taking care of BRiSON!!!!

Here is a little footage from Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Summerfest Celebrity Basketball Game, which took place at Morehouse's gymnasium on Saturday. The spot was packed with celebs such as Lorenz Tate, Bow Wow, Nelly, Boris Kodjoe, and more. There was also a halftime show by one of the newest celebrities to reach adulthood...Soulja Boy and his new group the Showstoppers. This event definitely went better than the previous night's party, which ended in a club VIP shoot out...even though the heat from the long lines could've killed somebody just the same!!! Peep the footage...and for more on the entire weekend visit www.sohh.com.

Mo'Nique Showed LOVE to Uptown Comedy Corner in Atlanta Last Weekend

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Monday, August 20, 2007 , under , , , |

It's a classic case of "when you do people right, it alwways comes back around triple fold"...

In recent months the Uptown Comedy Corner in Atlanta, GA has been going though slight difficulties with the lack support from the city, but the crowd came out in numbers this past weekend to see Queen of Comedy Mo'Nique headline a show.

But Mo wasn't just there on the strength, this is one of the spots that gave Mo'Nique her first gig, which at the time Mo'Nique admits only payed $150.00; well we know her bank account is well over that now, but it's great to know that throughout all of her fortune and fame, she is never to big to come and help those who paved the way for her.

"We gotta support our black comedy clubs y'all, or how will we know who the next Mo'Nique or Chris Tucker is?" explained Mo'Nique

There definitely wasn't a problem last weekend, but Mo'Nique is so true! Without getting out there and supporting the comedy clubs, especially our own, we will never know who the next kings and queens of comedy will be. Get out there and support our comedy clubs, and you can start right here in the A at Uptown Comedy Corner 800 Marietta St. Atlanta GA 30318

BIG ups to Val Farrow for getting Mo'Nique here, and for having BRiSON & Divadend Ent. in the building!!!

Pierre Returns to Kill the Comedy Game

Posted by Jason Dinsmore on Friday, February 23, 2007 , under , , , , , , , |

Now I know everybody remembers and knows the comedian Pierre. He is a legend in the comedy game, not only with his stand up routines, but with his movies too. So far in his career he has blessed our tv's through Def Comedy Jam, ComicView, How to be a Player, BAPS, and so much more.

A week or two back, Bri'Son got the chance to catch Pierre's latest stand up joint here at Atlanta's Original Uptown Comedy Corner as well as a chance to sit down and chop it up about Pierre's future...which seems to be just as bright as his complexion. Ok, I'll stay in my lane and do the writing while Pierre tells the jokes, but stay tuned to our website and keep dropping those 3 or 4 dollars for these magazines to get the full scoop on Pierre and to get the exclusive interview. And I know everybody's wondering where you can catch Pierre's stand up act next...well, you'll have to keep checking in for that too (oh, it's coming)

BIG ups to Pierre, ChiQ Diva PR Goddess (the BEST publicist in the world), Wanda Smith & V103, Lil Duval, & everybody over at Uptown Comedy Corner (we appreciate that nice VIP side view)

MAKE SURE WHILE YOU'RE OUT THERE SUPPORTING PIERRE...STEP INTO UPTOWN COMEDY CORNER ON TUESDAY's FOR - OFF THE WALL TUESDAY's PRESENTED BY GRAND HUSTLE - HOSTED BY GRAND HUSTLE'S STAR COMIC LIL' DUVAL - 800 Marietta Street/Atlanta, GA/30318
