The lane just keeps getting wider for Atlanta, or should I say Bankhead rapper Shawty Lo. At Monday night's Ozone Awards, held in Houston, Lo was crowned "Breakthrough Artist of the Year", beating other rising artists Gorilla Zoe, Soulja Boy, Rocko, and Flo Rida. Along with grabbing the award, Lo also performed a medley of hits including, "Dun Dun", "Dey Know", and "Foolish".

The night received various reviews, with most of the negative coming directly from Houston artists, but that certainly wasn't the case for Shawty Lo. When asked about his win, he replied "It was an honor just to be nominated but to win is a good feeling and to win for Breakthrough Artist is a blessing because I feel like I did just that this past year. I also really appreciate the fans for supporting me through it all and I also thank God for allowing me to keep doing what I love to do." Lo was also nominated for four other awards including "Album of the Year".
