It may seem obvious where he got his rap name. I mean after all, he is from the state now synonymous with one of the worst natural disasters in the history of our country. We can all remember back to 2005 when Katrina smacked the hell out of the gulf coast, Hip Hop included. But this young MC says that he earned his name for a different reason.
Starting out in battle competitions in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana Hurricane Chris tells of days when he would battle other MC's to the point that when it was all over he'd leave the crowd sitting in silence. This happened so much, to the effect that he began to remind himself of the aftermath to a storm.
