Could dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson really have two roles of a lifetime? The Chicago-bred powerhouse is in negotiations to star as Billie Holliday in a potential remake of the original 1972 Diana Ross-starring biopic “Lady Sings the Blues.”
The film’s original producers are considering a re-vamp of the film and Hudson is the leading contender. Producer, Jay Weston, says that he has always wanted to go back and do a more authentic version of the film – one that intricately details the true love affair that Billie had with the black DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent who eventually had to arrest her.
If this re-make is anything like Dreamgirls, it will definitely hit record-breaking box office numbers. Imagine the cast of a new “Lady Sings the Blues”….CRAZY!
