Hip Hop heads and video game lovers should all be rising up for the release of the 3rd fighting game in Def Jam’s video game series. The game is called Def Jam: Icon and is a heavy mixture of not only today’s leading music industry, but of entertainment in general. Characters include The Game, Bun B, Ghost Face, Paul Wall, Method Man, and of course Atlanta’s best trio: TI, Ludacris, and Young Jeezy. If you’re not feeling "musical," you can get your fight on with comedian Anthony Anderson; and if your skills are on point, you may even get to build a character, in which you can create music mogul Russell Simmons.

Last night at Season’s Night Club, Corporate Thugz Entertainment (CTE) teamed up with EA Sports, BME and a few other sponsors for the Def Jam: Icons Video Game Release Party. The event was definitely packed and star-studded. Everyone from Sho’Nuff recording artist Hoodlum to R&B sensation Lyfe Jennings were in the spot. And since the party was thrown by CTE, you know Young Jeezy had to stop through and see what he looks like on the video game! Season’s had three big-screens with X-Box 360 hooked up, and everyone got a chance to preview the game.

Now Smoke and I share mixed feelings about the game itself. Smoke fought using The Game, and says it’s on point and a definite purchase. I, on the other hand, rumbled using T.I., and felt like the game was tight, no doubt. I like the 106th& Park venue and the realistic graphics, but the fighters seem a little too slow for all of the energy the game exudes, but it could have been the wireless joystick that I was using (or that 3rd mixed drink!! J). Needless to say, I got my @ss handed to me both times I played. I guess I’ll stick to teaching the kids and Smoke can stick to being one! Ok, I’ll stop hating at getting whopped, but overall, the game is definitely entertaining enough to have, and if you don’t really ever play the game, the current hits programmed into the system might be enough to keep you interested!
